| Day 01 | Arrive Bhubneshwar -Temple Tour |
| Welcome to Bhubaneswar - the capital of Orissa. On arrival at Bhubaneswar airport or Bhubaneshwar railway station, begin your tour of 'Jaano Orissa'. You will be met and transferred to your hotel. In the afternoon proceed on a half day tour visiting the Lingaraj temple, Parsurameswar temple, the Mukteshwar temple and the Raja Rani temple. | |
| Day 02 | Bhubaneshwar - Puri via Dhauli, Pipli and Konark (110 kms / approx. 9 hour drive). |
| After breakfast, a relaxed morning drive through the lush green countryside to Puri. Enroute visit Dhauli where Emperor Ashoka after the bloody battle and his victory over the Kingdom of Kalinga renounced warfare and embraced the teachings of Buddha. Also visit the Peace Pagoda or Shanti Stupa built in the early 1970 and the two ancient rock edicts dating from 260 BC which outline Ashoka's detailed instructions to his administrators to rule with gentleness and fairness. Thereafter visit the colorful village of Pipli where you can purchase local handicrafts and the famous appliqué work. The tour continues with a visit to Konark that houses a colossal temple dedicated to the Sun God. Even in its ruined state its magnificence reflects the genius of its architects who envisioned and built it. Continue driving to Puri and on arrival check into your hotel. | |
| Day 03 | In Puri - City Tour |
| After breakfast, In the morning visit the famous Jagannath temple, the pulsating pilgrimage center of the city. Enjoy a stroll through the bustling bazaar and visit the main temple complex. The rest of the day is at leisure to relax or explore the Puri beach. | |
| Day 04 | In Puri-Excursions to Chilika lake |
| After breakfast, Today proceed on a half-day excursion to the south of Puri where the sea mixes with the 1100 sq km inland Chilika Lake to create a brackish water lake. This lake is home to over 160 varieties of fishes and in the winter season it is home to hundreds of thousands of migratory birds, Dotted with a host of islands with romantic names, a cruise in Chilika is recommended (on direct payment). | |
