Pachmarhi

Nestled in the Satpura ranges, at an altitude of 1,100m, Pachmarhi is one of the most beautiful hill stations in central India. The place is very attractive and relaxing, with peace, seclusion and a quiet unobtrusive beauty as its prime attractions. Nature, here, expresses itself in numerous enchanting ways. Formed of red sandstone, the valley, ravines and the maze of gorges, add colour to this tranquil hill station.

The forests of Pachmarhi are the natural habitats of the woodland birds and wild species like Langur (Presbytis entellus), Sambar, Indian Bison and Leopard. For the lovers of ancient art, Pachmarhi is an archaeological treasure house. The caves in the Mahadeo hills contain a large number of paintings made on the rocks. Eroded into fascinating shapes and sizes, because of weather, the numerous rocks in Pachmarhi are also a major attraction for the rock climbers
